Erin discussed with three others in this clip from CNN on the last debate before the Iowa caucus. She compares mitt Romney to teflon because he has lasted through races over the last 8 years of so and he still is able to keep his numbers at about 25%. The others in the video express even that they feel that Newt Gingrich entering the race was a good thing for Romney because it's making him a little tougher and if he is to actually win this race, he's going to have to be able to take and throw some punches. Also showed was a Rick Perry of Texas comparing himself to being the Tim Tebow of the Iowa caucus. It seemed that they found this rather amusing. Erin Burnett seems to be in support of Romney. This could hekp gain support for Romney because they express how he does not have an imense amount of baggage like the others.

Aticle: Pounding the Pavement, Santorum Makes Hist Stand In Iowa Battling Low Poll Numbers
Author: James O'toole of the Pittsburgh Post
Date : 12-14
The question being adressed is whether Senator Rick Santorum will be able to raise his numbers in the State of Iowa before the time of the caucus on Jan 3rd. As of right now he sits at sixth place projected at least. The article described how he has made an effort to campaign a different way than the rest of the front runners. Instead of using his money on tv and radio ads, he has made his way around to every county in the state to meet the people directly. The author's position shows how it seems very unlikely for him to make up enough ground for a shot at winning the state but shows the hard work ethic he presents as a candidate. The impact this atricle could have is that he may gain some voters becasue some people may like the fact that he isn't being like everyone else. He's being creative with his efforts to try something new to get more public recognition.

Article Title: Can Romney Conquer Gingrich, Own Ceiling?
Date: 12-15
Author: Stuart Rothenberg
The question being adressed in this article is whether Mitt Romney will be able to win any of the big republican caucuses such as Iowa, NH, or South Carolina. It states expresses how in Iowa Romeny's voting percentage of approval tops out at 25% and it has remained at that for quite some time now. Even with other candidates' numbers increasing/decreasing, he can't seem to break through his own ceiling. As the other describes it, the ceiling isn't made of glass, it's made of solid concrete. I learned that Gingrich, Romney's main opponent in the race is dislike by most conservatives just as Romney is. But when it comes down to it, most at this point at least would chose Romney if they had to. The author's position seems to be in support of Romney. At times he seems as if he's trying to make Gingrich's support seem lower or point out how he will lose. This will impact the political arena because many of the readers of this article will tend to lean more towards Romney after reading the possibility of Gingrich's race to "self destruct".

Blog 2, Behind the scenes
The question addressed in the second NY Times article I read was how the republican candidates react with a reporter off of the television forum. A reporter approahced most of them as they left the Fox Forum through the main doors. People are given insight into how the different teams act. For example, Romney had multiple body guards and other crew member following him ensuring that no reporters got to him. His team was very deffensive and wanted nothing to do with any more questions. Other teams such as Rick Santorum's were okay with answering a question or two. He aimed an attack at Romney's team because he advertises different beleifs verbally then what his reports reflect. Other candidates like that of Michelle Bachman weren't even pursued for questioning. They did later comment however saying they would have had no problem at all answering more questions. This info could be used for/against the candidates on the issue of why they had a problem with talking to reporters after the forum behind the scenes. The position taken by the author shows that there is a distinct difference between the way each of the candidates run their campaign. This can impact the political arena because some people may not like the fact that campaigns such as Romney's are being so distant and deffensive when sought after.
Blog 1, Mitt Romney NH
The question that is being adressed in my first article about Mitt Romney was wether or not he will be able to hold on to his lead over Gingrich in the state of New Hampshire. The article expresses that Romney has been a favorite to win the state because he was a neighboring governor of MA, and owns a home in NH. However, Gingrich and Romney were both making speeches in New Hampshire at the same time and it resulted in them attackin each other instead of the rest of the candidates or the president. I learned that Romney has been recently losing his popularity to Gingrich and if he cannot maintain the lead in NH, he may be in for some trouble because Gingrich is already the favorite for other key states like Iowa and South Carolina. The author takes the position of stating that Romney if he plays his cards well will be okay but expresses that it's esential for him to hold on to New Hampshire over Gingrich, his main opponent. This has an impact on the political arena because it shows how the tides are shifting and some candidates are losing their edge while others are gaining ground quickly.
